Delicious spaghetti garlic bread bowls recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Italian bread (large, round)
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut a large circle out of the top of the Italian bread loaf, creating a well. Hollow out the inside of the loaf, leaving about a 1-inch thick shell.
  2. Step 2: In a large pot, cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain well.
  3. Step 3: While the spaghetti is cooking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Step 4: In a large bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, marinara sauce, and garlic-infused olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Step 5: Brush the inside of the bread bowl with melted butter. Fill the bread bowl with the spaghetti mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  6. Step 6: Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • To prevent soggy bread bowls, lightly toast the hollowed loaves before filling them with the spaghetti mixture.
  • Reheat individual portions in the microwave, adding a splash of water to the spaghetti to prevent it from drying out.
  • Serve each garlic bread bowl with a side salad to balance the richness of the pasta.
  • Don't discard the bread you scoop out; bake them into crispy croutons to top the spaghetti or enjoy as a snack.
