Delicious oreo balls recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 Oreo cookies
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
  • Sprinkles, for decorating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Finely crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor or place them in a ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, mix the crushed Oreo cookies, softened cream cheese, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Step 4: In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the milk chocolate chips and white chocolate chips with 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable shortening each, in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  5. Step 5: Dip each frozen Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, using a fork or dipping tools to coat completely. Place back on the parchment paper.
  6. Step 6: Immediately sprinkle with sprinkles, if desired, before the chocolate sets. Let the chocolate harden completely before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Store Oreo Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week to keep them firm and fresh.
  • If your chocolate coating isn't perfectly smooth, stir in an extra drop or two of vegetable shortening for a glossy finish.
  • For a fun presentation, arrange Oreo Balls on a tiered dessert stand or serve them with small skewers for easy dipping.
  • For a slightly softer texture, let the frozen Oreo Balls sit at room temperature for about 5-10 minutes before dipping them in the melted chocolate.
