Ingredients
- All-Purpose Flour: 2 cups
- Baking Powder: 4 teaspoons
- Granulated Sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Large Eggs: 2
- Melted Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup
- Milk: 1 3/4 cups
- Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Step 3: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Step 4: Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or butter.
- Step 5: Pour the batter onto the hot waffle iron, using the recommended amount for your waffle iron.
- Step 6: Cook the waffles until golden brown and crisp, usually 3-5 minutes, according to your waffle iron. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Leftover waffles freeze beautifully! Cool them completely on a wire rack, then store in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 2 months.
- To revive frozen waffles, pop them in the toaster until heated through and crispy – much better than microwaving!
- For a brunch upgrade, try topping these fluffy waffles with fresh berries, whipped cream, and a drizzle of warm maple syrup.
- Don't overmix the batter! Lumps are your friend and help keep the waffles light and airy, so gently fold until just combined.
