Ingredients
- Baguette: 1, sliced into 1/2 inch rounds
- Olive Oil: 1/4 cup, extra virgin
- Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
- Balsamic Glaze: 2 tablespoons
- Ricotta Cheese: 4 ounces
- Prosciutto: 4 ounces, thinly sliced
- Cherry Tomatoes: 1 pint, halved
- Fresh Basil: 1/4 cup, chopped
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices in a single layer on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil.
- Step 2: Bake the baguette slices for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Let cool slightly.
- Step 3: While the baguette is baking, prepare the toppings. For example, mix ricotta cheese with minced garlic and a drizzle of olive oil. Halve cherry tomatoes and toss with balsamic glaze.
- Step 4: Spread ricotta mixture on some of the cooled crostini. Top with prosciutto.
- Step 5: Arrange balsamic glazed tomatoes on other crostini. Garnish with fresh basil.
- Step 6: Serve immediately and watch your guests be wowed!
Notes
- Store leftover crostini toppings separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days to prevent soggy bread.
- To revive cooled or slightly softened crostini, pop them back in a 350°F oven for 2-3 minutes until crisp.
- Present the crostini on a tiered platter for an elegant display, showcasing the different toppings for maximum visual appeal.
- For extra flavor, lightly toast the minced garlic in olive oil before mixing it with the ricotta – just be careful not to burn it!
