Delicious spicy chicken sandwich with creamy homemade sauce recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Chicken breasts, boneless and skinless: 2 (6-8 oz each)
  • Brioche buns: 2
  • Mayonnaise: 1/2 cup
  • Sriracha sauce: 1-2 tablespoons (adjust to taste)
  • Honey: 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon
  • Pickle slices: as needed

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare the chicken. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness (about 1/2 inch). Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Step 2: Cook the chicken. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a tablespoon of oil. Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let rest for a few minutes before slicing, if desired.
  3. Step 3: Make the spicy sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, and honey until smooth. Taste and adjust the Sriracha to your desired level of spiciness.
  4. Step 4: Toast the buns. Lightly toast the brioche buns.
  5. Step 5: Assemble the sandwiches. Spread the spicy sauce on both halves of the toasted buns. Place the cooked chicken on the bottom bun. Top with pickle slices.

Notes

  • Store leftover cooked chicken separately from the sauce and buns to prevent sogginess.
  • Reheat the chicken in a skillet or microwave until warmed through, then assemble your sandwich fresh for the best texture.
  • Serve your spicy chicken sandwich with a side of crunchy coleslaw to balance the heat and add some cool freshness.
  • For extra flavor, try marinating the chicken in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, and your favorite herbs for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
