Ingredients
- Cooked mashed potatoes, cooled: 2 cups
- Shredded cheddar cheese: 1 cup
- All-purpose flour: 1/2 cup
- Egg: 1 large
- Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the cooled mashed potatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, flour, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Step 2: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 3: Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, form the potato mixture into small, evenly sized balls. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each puff.
- Step 4: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and crispy.
- Step 5: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- Store cooled leftover puffs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat the cheese puffs in a 350°F (175°C) oven or air fryer for a few minutes to regain their crispy texture.
- Serve these cheesy delights as a side dish with your favorite protein, or as a fun appetizer with a dollop of sour cream.
- For extra flavor, try using a sharp cheddar or adding a pinch of smoked paprika to the potato mixture.
