Ingredients
- Unsalted butter, melted: 1/2 cup
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup
- Brown sugar, packed: 1/2 cup
- Large eggs: 2
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour: 1/2 cup
- Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/2 cup
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until well combined.
- Step 3: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 6: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Store cooled brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the fridge for up to a week.
- For a warm, gooey treat, microwave a brownie square for 10-15 seconds.
- Serve these fudgy brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of sea salt for a delightful contrast.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet until *just* combined; overmixing leads to tough brownies.
