Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup finely diced red onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 2 tablespoons lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Instructions
- Step 1: Cut avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium-sized bowl.
- Step 2: Mash the avocado with a fork until you reach your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
- Step 3: Add the red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice, salt, and cumin to the bowl.
- Step 4: Gently stir all ingredients together until well combined.
- Step 5: Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, lime juice, or jalapeño as desired.
Notes
- To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating.
- Guacamole is best served fresh, but if needed, revive day-old guacamole with a squeeze of extra lime juice.
- Serve your guacamole with warm tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for tacos and grilled meats.
- For an extra flavor boost, lightly toast the cumin seeds in a dry pan before grinding them and adding to the guacamole.
