Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning (1 ounce)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 bag (10-11 ounces) Doritos, nacho cheese flavor preferred
- 1 head lettuce, shredded
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Step 1: Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Step 2: Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed.
- Step 3: In a large bowl or individual bowls, crush a layer of Doritos on the bottom.
- Step 4: Top with shredded lettuce, seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and diced tomatoes.
- Step 5: Dollop with sour cream and serve immediately.
Notes
- To prevent soggy chips, assemble the salad just before serving.
- Store leftover taco meat separately from the other ingredients in the fridge.
- Add a scoop of guacamole for extra flavor and creamy texture.
- For a warmer salad, microwave the taco meat briefly before assembling, but keep the chips crisp!
