Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 6 cups cubed stuffing mix
- 1.5 cups chicken broth
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine stuffing mix, chicken broth, melted butter, thyme, and pepper. Mix well.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup and milk.
- Step 4: Spread half of the stuffing mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Step 5: Top with the chicken pieces, spreading them evenly over the stuffing.
- Step 6: Pour the cream of chicken soup mixture over the chicken. Top with the remaining stuffing mixture. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and stuffing is golden brown.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results, reheat individual portions in the microwave or oven until heated through, adding a splash of chicken broth if the stuffing seems dry.
- Serve this comforting bake with a side of steamed green beans or cranberry sauce to brighten the richness.
- To prevent the chicken from drying out, consider adding a thin layer of shredded cheddar cheese under the final layer of stuffing for extra moisture and flavor.
